Steam Rice

Hindustani Handi Steam Rice is a classic preparation of plain steamed rice, cooked in a traditional clay pot (handi) for an earthy flavor and aromatic finish. The clay handi adds a rustic charm, making the rice more fragrant and a perfect base for rich Indian curries, dals, or stir-fries.

• Heat a clay pot (handi) over low to medium heat to avoid cracking from sudden temperature changes. If using for the first time, ensure the handi has been properly seasoned.
• Cover the handi with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce the heat to low and allow the rice to cook for 12-15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Avoid stirring to keep the grains intact.
